Headmaster's Welcome 24th June 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you are all continuing to enjoy the fine weather. This week was School diversity week where we celebrated each other’s differences. The catering staff had themed lunches representing different countries every day this week.

Our Year 12 pupils have coped well with their internal examinations.

Year 7 and 8 spent two enjoyable days undertaking Project Based Learning tasks and Year 9 found the Learn to Earn workshop most informative.

Tomorrow is our annual Speech Day/Leavers Day/TBS Reunion Day.  Pupils in Year 7-11 and their parents can arrive from 10am and receive some refreshments in the Assembly Hall and the pupils will also be able to participate in some activities laid on for them by the competitive games houses for about a half hour or so. At 10.30am parents and pupils will be required to go to the Sports Hall to take their seats for the Prizegiving Ceremony which will start at 11am. Our guest speaker Ben Heason is coming down from Sheffield and he is going to travel via campervan. The ceremony itself will finish around 12.15pm after which there will be further refreshments in the Assembly Hall prior to departure.

As previously mentioned, there is going to be no bus service tomorrow. Can I please remind visitors to wear low heeled shoes as we have laid a new floor in the Sports Hall and wish to protect it.

Saturday is also Reunion Day, we expect some former pupils to return where they will be able to look at some exhibitions in the DT and Art areas in addition to some Jubilee exhibitions in the library as well as a tour of the School if so required.

I am looking forward to the Junior School Production and all of the pupils have been working very hard on this and it takes place on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd July.

Next Saturday is also our Getting to Know Bethany Day and this for pupils who are joining Bethany in Year 7, 8 and 9 next year as well their parents.

Life remains very busy at Bethany which is how it should be.

 Yours sincerely

Francie Healy
