Headmaster's Welcome 25th March 2022
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the penultimate newsletter of the term. I was disappointed that my adopted country (England) couldn’t do the Irish a favour in the rugby and I would like to reassure you that I was a fervent English supporter for last weekend’s match against France!
Year 13 coped pretty well with their internal assessments this week.
I had the pleasure, and indeed privilege, of being present at the Easter concert on Wednesday night. This was organised in its entirety by our Year 11 musicians, and it was a superb evening. Some of the music even brought me back to my youth!
Our superb performing artists are now focused on preparing for the school production, Grease, next week. The dress rehearsal takes place on Monday and there are performances on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm in the Assembly Hall. Ticket sales are buoyant, and the pupils are working extraordinarily hard.
I hope that the Year 11 parents had informed discussions about their children’s progress with their respective teachers last night and tonight.
Term ends at 5.00 pm next Friday and teaching starts for the summer term on Wednesday 20th April.
I read this the other day which made me smile. “I don’t have grey hair I have wisdom highlights.” As I only have a small amount of hair remaining, and it is all grey, I guess that just makes me slightly wise!
